In the trailer only god forgives has portray Bangkok as a city with an active drug trade and a corrupted police force working within them, the light in the trailer has set to be dark, with a vivid red colour showing violence within the trailer, parts of the trailer shows the downtown of Bangkok; very urbanized with a sense of danger floating in the air, mobsters/gangster with hidden guns ambushing the police, this shows that in Bangkok guns are acquired easily within the downtown of Bangkok and killing is just a casual thing in Bangkok downtown. This is exaggerated by the vengeance of the main character ‘Julian’ which his brother has been killed, the concept of revenge has been shown in the video by violence and the repeated voices of the word ‘Kill’. In the trailer locations in Bangkok are usually in downtown, nightclubs strips clubs and hotels but though they are some existing parts of the trailer that shows cultural Thailand but in a dismissive way, the police man ‘Chang’ has been presented in a cynical way, he likes to kill, but he has respect in his foes and is not scared of anyone, unlike the ‘Julian’ which he is presented in an adventurous kind of guy, but the trailer has fused their intentions of vengeance, for Chang it is his fallen police comrades, for Julian it is his murdered brother. Overall trailer shows a concept of downtown Bangkok with its exaggerated violence and the sense of danger in Thailand, a gloomy side of Bangkok.
In the documentary ‘Harry Bikers’ Thailand is represented in a positive way, the songs in the documentary is nearly all soundtracks in cultural Thailand why? Because they care trying to refer to Thailand’s cultural food as much as possible. The camera has shown different shots in the documentary, usually long shots for the environment and the landscape of Bangkok and the close up shots for details and the ingredients of food. It is represents Bangkok in a very cultural way, there are not even a scene of negative effects. The lighting in the documentary is all natural lightings, it gives warmth within the morning and the vivid night lights of Bangkok, contrasts it as a city of life. Unlike only god forgives, they are no violence within the documentary, the video is not as face paced as the trailer. Overall it shows Thailand as a very peaceful country, a very cultural country, traditional food and a beautiful, relaxing place to live in.
